I have a friend who would like to install a wind generator for electricity, but the local power company will not let him connect to the power grid unless he can show that he has a million dollars insurance. Well, he cannot find any company that offers that type of insurance for any price. He has written to everyone he can think of but still no source of insurance. The reason he wants to connect to the power grid is to use it as his storage system so that he doesn’t have to maintain a whole bank of storage batterys. Does anyone know where he can get this type of insurance for a system that will be in the state of Texas?

The reason for this is that more and more insurance companies are emerging, and each is fighting to bring the other one down. The number of auto insurance companies in Massachusetts is around 31, and they are competing against one another for price, service and product.
From the point of view of consumers, the law has changed for good. First, the consumers had to get the insurance for a price fixed by State, but now they are free to go to whichever company they wish according to their preference. A study showed that the year the new law was implemented, consumers in Massachusetts have saved up to 270 million dollars.
A lot of these companies have their websites making it extremely painless for the consumers to compare rates and quotes. However, you must be careful when reading the time period for payment of your premium because sometimes it’s 6 months and consumers think it is for a year. Do not make this mistake, because what you think you will have to pay would actually be the double of that. Ask the agent to get you quotes from several companies and obviously if your agent can’t do that then there are many other agents in the town. But you could also shop direct too.
